The clock is now showing 07:30 means it is already 07.30a.m! yes A.M!!! And I am still in the office. I worked from Thursday morning 9.30a.m till now Friday morning 7.30am. OMG! 22 hours non stop! My brain is not working anymore, arghhh! Headache!
The whole team is staying back today (opps... suppose to be yesterday??) as our product deadline is tomorrow (aiyak! today lah, not tomorrow). Then all the staffs MC tomorrow, wuakaka!
Hope I can leave office soon, go home take shower, and go back to KL straight.

Shall I blog about my company product? Hmmm...

Singtel Hot$100

Another busy week. Have been working from home on Saturdays for at least 4 weeks. Long working hours. Really tiring. I started seeing characters like moving maggots on my computer screen, my eyes are too tired! I need some rest. I do not have time for shopping. Hmmm, will try to arrange a shopping session this Saturday, anyone interested? (Salary should be in by end of this week, don tell me that got no money)

I have reloaded my mobile phone with Hot$100 again. I pay only $26 for the card, but I get $128 of value inside. Too happy! $100 for local talk time and local sms, $28 is for IDD talk time and IDD sms. I have been using this Hot$100 for quite some time (I think nearly one year). Since I am not a kind of person who always cook "phone porridge", so I have a lot of credits in my account, around $500 in Local talk time.
It is cheap to make calls in Singapore.

It looks like this

The rates:
Local call rate (day time) - $0.22 per minute (deduct from local call account) (now with free incoming calls, previously you need to pay for receiving calls)

Local call rate (after 8p.m.) - $0.08 per minute (deduct from local call account)

IDD call rate (day time) - $0.22 per minute (deduct from IDD account)

IDD call rate (day time) - $0.08 per minute (deduct from IDD account)- very cheap!

If I call my friends in Malaysia, lets say we talk for one hour, the total will be $0.08 x 60 minutes = $4.80
After convert
$4.80 x 2.4 = RM11.52

RM11.52 for 60 minutes on IDD call, not expensive rite? compare to prepaid user in Malaysia where you need to pay RM0.36 per minute.
RM0.36 x 60 minutes = RM21.60
RM21.60 !!! for local calls only!!!

So, next time, if you are coming to Singapore for vacation. Why not buy a prepaid card here (only $8.00). You will save a lot. International Roaming - RM4.00 per sms!!!!

Lucky Friday?

While waiting for my "driver" (opps, not driver, but my boss) in Harbor Front.
Nice view, and very windy there. Those cable cars are connecting between Harbor Front and Sentosa.

On the way to KL. My boss was actually driving at 140kmph, but I feel like 60kmph only. The car is so stable and comfortable.

Stopped at Restaurant Jejantas for dinner, tried their Nasi Goreng Kampung, very nice!

My lucky day? Although I had already bought my ticket from JB to KL. But since my bosses are going to KL, so they fetch me along (2 cars). And I called my friend (the ticket seller, since I go there every week, and now we become friends, lol) to cancel my ticket for me.
We started our journey around 3pm. Stop at Restaurant Jejantas near Air Keroh, Melaka for early dinner around 5.30pm. I had their Nasi Goreng Kampung, very nice! MY boss had their Nasi Goreng Cili Padi.
Then I bought a bottle of Cincaluk (fermented mini prawns) for RM3.50. I like Cincaluk, but not everyone can accept the smell of it. Why? Because it stinks!
When i was about to pay for the Cincaluk, a malay uncle asked me: "Ah moi, you makan cincaluk ke?". I grinned and walked away. What's wrong? Chinese gal cannot eat Cincaluk meh?
Reached home around 7.30pm. Another round of home cook food, herbal soup and Thai style green curry. Durian for dessert! I was craving for durian for days... Thanks ma!
It is so nice to stay at home. I get to eat whatever I want (till my stomach was bloated up).

Singapore Laksa

Craving for Singapore laksa...
Singapore Katong laksa is different from our Penang laksa or Johor laksa. It does not taste like asam laksa or curry laksa. For those who does not know what is Singapore Laksa, maybe you can try it out in Secret Recipe.
Found one Katong Laksa stall in the new Chinatown food court. Tried before, and thumbs up! I think I want to declare Friday as Laksa day (means will have Laksa for lunch every Firday). Cannot take too often, high cholesterol (because they use a lot of coconut milk, and also cockles, but the cockles are bigger, fresher and nicer than those i had in Malaysia). The noodles for Katong laksa are normally cut up into smaller pieces so that the entire dish can be eaten with a spoon alone (that is, without chopsticks or a fork). The ingredients are coconut milk, spices, dried shrimp and chilli, with toppings of fresh prawns, cockles, and sliced fishcake.
Try it out!

Mok @ Singapore

Now Firstcoach provides individual screen, but you have to bring your own headset

Entering Singapore @ Tuas

Firstcoach buses are now installed with individual screens. We took the 7.30am bus. The whole bus journey we were enjoying watching movies, lol. But, once we reached the checkpoint, the driver disabled the screens, maybe it was due to movies copyright issue. The bus is very spacious and comfortable. We reached Singapore around 1pm.

But, the whole day was raining. At first we planned to go to Haw Paw Villa, but it was raining, so we cannot go.
Reached Novena Square, had lunch in the food court and shop a bit in Velocity.
Then we took MRT to Orhard. Walked a bit only, then yum cha in Spinelli for hours due to the rain. He played PSP and I surfed net using his mobile.
After the rain has stopped, we walk to John Little, and i got my MASKs there for free! (Kamath gave me a $10 voucher). Then we walked to Somerset MRT, took a train to City Hall. Walked to Esplanade and Merlion Park. Took some photos and walked back to Marina square. YumCha again, but this time at Starbucks.

Around 7.30pm, went back to my house, put down our luggages, took shower and had dinner in ABC brickworks market. Then we shopped at Anchor Point. Bought a few things that is not sold in Malaysia. Overall, quite happy and satisfied. I hope the next time Mok visit Singapore, it will not rain, and I want to take him to more places.

Another Birthday celebration

Peng Ho and his gf

Happy Birthday Peng Ho!
Peng Ho is an old friend of mine. We have been knowing each other since we were 5 years old! Yesterday was his birthday, so Raymond King gathered a few of us (primary schoolmates) to have dinner to celebrate his Birthday. Had dinner in Manjalara. One of the best dishes was "Ham Sap Hai" (butter and salted egg crab) lol, funny name right? But, I guess they put a lot of MSG. I felt so thirsty after dinner.

Mok is going to Singapore with me tomorrow!
But, he will only stay there for one day.
We are planning to go to Singapore night safari and Orchard Road.
Opps... I need to find more info on how to get there.
Hope we will enjoy our one day trip tomorrow.

Working from 9.30 am to 11.00 pm. Really tiring.
Although now I am in KL. But still, I am working from home.

Parents have gone for vacation. So, I become the driver, and also my sisters' maid.
Sigh...
Btw, I will be staying in KL for another day. Heading back to Singapore on Monday only.
Hope will get to arrange at least one Yumcha session. Cath, so sorry. I am really busy, we will try to make it on Sunday evening.

Bukit Tinggi BBQ Village

Umbrellas as decorations?

With my sister Lily

Sisters (Kyanne and Vicky)

BBQ Fish (RM30.00)

Seafood pot (RM112.00) very expensive, in fact only 2 crabs, few prawns, some clams, some green mussels and some veggies only

Celebrated father's birthday in Bukit Tinggi BBQ village. Dishes are nice but kinda expensive. In fact, we only order 3 dishes and the bill was RM201.00.
BBQ fish - RM30.00
BBQ chicken (quite small) - RM40.00
Seafood pot - RM112.00
8 Rice & Chinese Tea (own Tea leaves) - RM20++
I think they added sticky rice into their Siam rice in order to make it look like fragrance rice. And they added oil into it also, yucks...
When I asked them, they said added oil to the rice so that it is easier to be scooped out. And the rice is not fully cooked. They only provide chili padi and garlic, they do not provide any other chili sauce.
Pa, Happy Birthday!

First Coach Express bus

I used to travel by First Coach Express bus one and a half years ago.
For me, it is one of the most comfortable Singapore Malaysia express bus.
But, I cannot afford to do that on weekly basis, as the round fare is RM115 per trip.
Refer here for my RM59 round trip info.

From KL - Singapore is RM45
From Singapore - KL is RM70

Convenient - Not in Puduraya (So no jam)! Near Bangsar LRT station
Safe - Drivers drive safely
Fast - Uses second link, Tuas Checkpoint, which is far less crowded than Woodlands Checkpoint
Comfortable - Clean and quite spacious
Reliable - Depart and Arrive on time

Note: They also provide refreshment.

I bought two tickets from First Coach this morning. Will be able to enjoy my comfortable bus journey again in 2 weeks time, yeah!

Work ...

This is how my desk looks like when I am at work.
Too many phones, very confusing. That's why I labeled them with the number and operators' name at the back of the phone with a small sticker.

Okok, get back to work now. Need to finish some work before going back to KL today.
My dear Kampung, wait for me, I am coming!

40 tips for a better life

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

3. Buy a DVR and tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today.'

5. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

6. Play more games and read more books than you did in 2007.

7. Make time to pray. Prayers provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.

8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

9. Dream more while you are awake.

10. Eat more food that grows on trees and plants, and eat less food that is manufactured in 'plants'.

11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13. Clear clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.

14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you
learn will last a lifetime.

16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

18. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

22. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

23. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

24. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In 5 years, will this matter?"

26. Forgive everyone for everything.

27. What other people think of you is none of your business.

28. GOD heals almost everything.

29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

30. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick
Your friends will. Stay in touch.

31. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

32. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

33. The best is yet to come.

34. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

35. Do the right thing!

36. Call your family often.

37. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements:
I am thankful for __________.
Today I accomplished ___________________.

38. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

39. Enjoy the ride. Remember this is not Disney World and you certainly don't want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride.

40. Man GETS and FORGETS; GOD GIVES AND FORGIVES.

Singapore the FINE city

This printed T-shirt drew my attention when I passed by Pagoda Street, Chinatown.

The words are kinda small in the picture:
No smoking - $500
No chewing gum $1000
No littering $1000
No Urinating $1000
No flower-picking $500
No Flushing - $500
No Bird-feeding - $1000
No water wasting - $500
No Spitting - $1000

Everything fine.
There are more:
No parking coupon, fine.
Jay walking, fine.
Misuse of monthly travel pass, fine
...
...
...

One more... not fine, but jail.
About a year ago a jobless man wanted to commit suicide.
So, he jumped down from his HDB flats.
Unfortunately, he fell on a little girl, and broke the girl's leg.
He wanted to die, but failed, ended up being sent to the jail, sad case...

My bus is coming! I got to go!

I always say my bus is coming in 10 minutes time, i got to leave now. How do I know? Hehehe. I use This link to check when is my bus reaching the bus stop near my office. If let's say I am not in the office, no internet connection, I can still check it by sending a SMS. Now even better. They have put this Digital bus arrival time board at the bus stop. The first column from the left indicates the bus service number, second and third columns are the next bus arrival time, and the subsequent bus arrival time. The wheelchair sign indicates that the bus is a double decker, and is a wheelchair-accessible bus.

No more 20-days interest-free period for credit card users

Banks to remove the 20-day interest-free period for new retail transactions for credit card holders who settle a partial or minimum payment of their outstanding amount. Does it affected you? What benefits for those who settle the full amount on time (lol, so glad that I am one of them)?
After July, only those who make full payments before the due date will be entitled to the interest-free days. For those who make only partial or minimum payment will be charged interest on the day the new purchases are posted to the card's account.
Those who use their card for convenience or to earn points are advised to pay close attention to the outstanding amount, if you continue to pay in full diligently, you will not be affected. But for those who intent to pay in round numbers or pay the wrong amount will be severely impacted if he makes a big purchase on his card, as he will be charged interest on this purchase from the date of the transaction.
Good Luck!

Singapore Trends...

Noticed that Singaporeans like to follow trend. If someone starts using something new, the next few weeks, you can see a lot of people using the same thing especially in the bus or MRT.

Two years back, saw lots of students and working Adults put on their MP3 players or Ipods while taking MRT or bus. For those who do not have MP3 player or Ipod, i noticed their headphones are actually Sony Ericsson or Nokia headsets (which means they were listening songs thru their mobiles). Other than MP3 players or ipods trend, there was a CROCS trend, and now is PSP trend.

lol, pai seh to say this, but I was also a MP3 trend follower months ago, and I am now a PSP trend follower.

What is next? Reading E-Book on MRT?
