Malaysia Boleh or Malaysian Boleh?

It was raining early in the morning. It started around 7 a.m. if i am not mistaken, but i am very sure the rain started before my alarm clock beeped. What a nice weather to sleep...
I woke up, bathed and went to work.
During the journey to work, there was a 70++ chinese lady sitting in front of me.
She was talking on the phone.

These are the things that she said which caught my attention:-

"Wa sit bus setengah!" (I am on the bus, on the way)
"enam belad?" (sixteen?)
"That day wa call lu, lu takda TENG." (That day I called you, but you didn't answer)

Translation:-
wa - I or me in Hokkien
lu - You in Hokkien
setengah - Half or half way in malay
belad - suppose to be belas but she cannot pronounce properly
takda - don't have
TENG - listen or answer in Cantonese

Hahaha!
I can understand what she said!
Malaysian Chinese are often declared as "language genius" as we can speak and understand at least more than 3 languages.
Malaysia Boleh or Malaysian Boleh?

Yin Yang Rice

Before

After

Have you ever cooked brown rice and white rice in the same rice cooker? It was my first time. I like brown rice very much, but my father does not like it. Grandma has to take brown rice as the sugar level is lower compare to white rice. In order to make things easier, I cooked both white rice and brown rice in the same rice cooker, hehehe. But, the brown rice has to be soaked overnight before cooking because brown rice takes more time to cook and it needs more water as well.

Besides brown rice, I also like red bean rice. First, you got to boil the red beans. Just boil it like you normally cook red bean soup. When you see the skin of the red beans start cracking, then put in the rice. (You can boil the red beans in the rice cooker). It is easy, just like cooking normal rice. Just replace plain water with red bean soup. Besides red beans, you can also try fresh corns, barley, green beans...

Dreams ....

Why do we dream?
Have you ever thought of this?
I believe in dreams. For me, it is like giving me predictions of what is going to happen in the near future.
Heard of DREAM DICTIONARY?
I always use Dream Dictionary to interpret my dreams.
Sometimes, it is quite accurate.
Try it!

FLU ...

I was not feeling well yesterday - FLU. Used lots of tissues. Took 2 tablets of Panadol for cold relief, but it didn't work on me. After 6 hours, I took 2 tablets of Panadol Actifast and went to sleep. The next day, I felt much better. Was it because of the Panadol Actifast, or I just need sleep?
Have been working till very late lately. Feeling really tired. One more day to go......
Ganpahteh!

Lunch @ Annalakshmi

Annalakshmi @ Chinatown Point

The main Entrance

With my colleagues

One of the paintings in the restaurant

According to my colleague, ANNALAKSHMI means FOODS from GOD. They are rated as one of the best vegetarian Indian restaurant in Singapore. The best part is, you pay according to how much you feel the food worth.
I normally order North Thali, it comes with Nasi Bryani, Rasem, Raiti, Chappati, and some vegetables with curry. Taste Ichiban!
They serve buffet every Friday. Please make reservations in advance if you are going in a group.
I am feeling very full now. And sleepy too......

Happy Birthday Guys....

Happy Birthday James Wong.
Hope there are a lot of pretty Taiwanese gals celebrate your birthday with you in a special way. May all your dreams come true.

Happy Birthday Rinnel (my colleague).
Bought this cake from Swensens. Hazelnut Bliss. So costly. $33.17 for a small cake.
And they do not provide knife for the cake. Lucky I brought my own knife to office.
Count the candles. He is the youngest in the office.
The wordings was very nice when they showed us in the shop.
But donno y it melted a bit when we reached office.
Maybe they wanted to cover up that they actually spelled wrongly.

Back to normal ...

Me, Ming Yee and Lily

Family dinner on Saturday night at Serdang. It was my cousin Peng Lim birthday. Grandma took this opportunity to gather all of us together to celebrate his birthday.

I am back to Singapore after spending 10 days in KL. It was nice to work from KL, but I still prefer to work in the office instead of home. I started missing office on the second day. I like to spend my time according to my routine. Maybe I am a "ORGANISE" type of person? lol

A day at home ...

Nothing beat a slice of cake with a cup of tea for tea time. Yummy! My sis Lily is a good baker. She bakes good cakes (I know how to bake too, but I am too busy lately, just got no time to do so). She baked Mocha butter cake today. Mmmmm, although I was in my room, but I can smell the aroma of the cake from the oven.

Yes, I work from home today. Thank god I was able to connect to the internet today. Otherwise, I got to go to my dear's house again.

Mom cooked a lot of dishes today since everyone is at home (me back from Singapore, and my sis Kyanne is having her semester break). Got fried La-La, Steamed promfet, Stir-fried Sai Yong Choy, Fried Kuih Lobak, and Chinese Wine Chicken. Thanks ma.

Streamyx

Streamyx Sucks
Arghhhh....
Suppose to work from home. But Streamyx is down!!! Complained, but they will only send technician in 3 days time. What is this? Two weeks ago router gave problems. Fine, I use modem now, who knows Streamyx's turn to give problem.
What to do? Cannot work from home, I have to go all the way to my Dear's house to use the internet. Work from his house but without him in the house. He will be back only around 12.00 a.m. :(
I wish I can work from home tomorrow. Wish me good luck!

A week in KL

At Work @ Starbucks

Yes, today is Tuesday and i am still in KL. I will be working from home until further notice (probably till end of this week). Bosses and one of my colleagues were here from Singapore, had discussion with them on Sunday night. We had foot reflexology too. As for Monday, whole day was in Menara Chan, attended a meeting there. Hmmm, I miss their buffet lunch, yummy!

Today, had meeting at Starbucks, Plaza Damas. After meeting, bosses and colleague were heading back to Singapore while I met a friend of mine, Angela for lunch. Reached home around 2pm, continue my work from home again ...
Arghh, the weather is so HOT!

Staying back in KL feel so good. Can drive to work (reminded me my good old working days at Mont Kiara). Can spend more time with my family and my dear. Can eat home cook food daily. Can see my boy boy everyday. Can have YUM CHA session with my friends too! The most important thing is, I don't have to travel. I started to have backache due to the long hours journey. Have to take more rest as I am out from the hectic country for a week.

Pa, Happy Father's Day

Busy busy busy...

9.07pm and I was still in the office.
I don't think I can to go back KL this weekend.
Will not be able to celebrate father's day with my papa.
I will try to go back if I can finish my work.

Papa, happy father's day! You are the greatest papa in the world.
Thanks for the hardships you have taken to raise me up.
Thanks for sending me here and there whenever I need a driver.
I love you!

Shoe bites ....

My new shoes...

So painful ...
Ouch! My feet hurt so much due to wearing this new pair of shoes.
Nice to see, but not nice to wear.
Just hope that it won't leave any shoe bites marks on my feet.

Cauliflower + Mushroom soup

I am bored of eating boiled cauliflower. So I try something new. Cauliflower and baby corn with mushroom soup.
Yummy! Last week I tried broccoli with Parmesan cheese and dried chili flakes. Good combination!

Boring Saturday...

Trying to finish my book The Learning Curve by Melissa Nathan ( I have been reading it ON and OFF) as today is public holiday (Agong's Birthday). The acknowledgments of this book is really touching. This is the last book she wrote before she died. Melissa Nathan discovered she had breast cancer whilst writing her first novel, The Nanny which hit the Sunday Times TOP TEN in the spring of 2003. The Learning Curve is her fifth novel written in February 2006. Sadly she died two months later, aged 37.

Wanna share something with you all. Look at the pictures above. The second and third pictures, do you know what is that? It's Koh Samui Airport. I visited Koh Samui last year, took these pictures because I have never seen such a SPECIAL airport before. It was built in the style of huts. While waiting for boarding, they serve complimentary food and drinks too. And the interior designs of the toilets are AMAZING! COOL!

Fuel Price Hike ...

Fuel Price Hike
Rice Price Hike
Electricity Price Rise
Everything rising...
But, salary not increasing!

I think I can only go back Malaysia every fortnight instead of weekly basis if the bus fare increases.
Some of my friends said:" You are not affected what, you in Singapore, drive only once a week".
Hey my dear friends, for those who do not know, I am still paying for the petrol and maintenance for my car although I am not the one who is using it. So, conclusion? It affected me too.
I think my next car will be a smaller car (smaller cc car like:VIVA, Kancil, Kelisa, ATOZ?).
arghh... No more better car for me! Can afford to buy car, cannot afford to fill up petrol.
SAD ...

RoM

Ya, it was my ROM day (30th May 2008) @ Thean Hou Temple.
Thank you Ai Tsuey and Li Teng! Thanks everyone for all the wishes!
Mok keeps saying that his hair looked like "Ah Beng". Lots of my friends said he is now so thin, but he is still complaining that he is fat! I think sooner or later I will look "bigger" than him, do you agree?
How about me? Do I look fat? My face looked really fat right? I think I must start using face lifting products.
I am back to work today after 9 days OFF. Ganpahteh! Cath and Li Teng, all the best for the new beginning! Let's work harder!
